It's well worth the effort, though. The varying widths of the laces makes the texture of your leatherwork unique, and really convincinly communicates the idea of savage handcraft.

Do you dye your leather, or do you buy it dyed? A lot of the items you've posted have a variety of different kinds of leather, but the color is all nicely matched.

Thank you. :) I'm glad it communicates that. It's pretty much the look I've been trying to accomplish.

I actually buy the leather dyed. There is a store quite a drive away from here who has an incredible of amount of leather in a huge variety of colours. I would like to try my hand on dying leather myself, but he only sells undyed sheep or extremely thick leather. Sadly he has nothing inbetween.
I usually do use a lot of finishes, grease and colour wax for adding a bit more effect. :)
