Damn man ...this is quite good :).... I see in the comment below that its also practical :)

Tghou I wonder, if it is really capable of takeing a real medieval european (1400+) frontal blow and also have the power to flee\kill your adversary :)

Also, despite this, I really wonder how did u carve the design ? :-/ did you cut it out, beat the leather or compresed it ? :-?

I have no idea. I've don't have experience in wearing this while taking a real medieval european (1400+) frontal blow to check if I had the power to flee/kill my adversary. :dummy:

The leather is very thick though. It's lined with a 2mm layer of leather, the base layer is 5mm and the panels are 3mm. Perhaps I should try it sometime.

I um... Cut out the pattern from my original cardboard one, cut in the designs with a knife and beat them into it while the leather was moist. I don't know if this answers your question?

I use a swivel knife. =) You can easily google it and order it on any leather supplies website.
Good luck on it! I hope it turns out well for you

Is this functional? can I take a (not buffer but SCA Rattan) blow with these?

Sure. It's very thick leather. I think it'd look a bit worn over time after it having received various beatings but that could add to the flair I guess.
